Distraction from the mission

Have you noticed that as soon as you are well on your way in your walk with God, situations arise to distract you from your mission?

As we have discussed several times, the Holy Spirit speaks to us continuously. He does not just talk to us aimlessly; He comforts us, guides us, corrects us, and offers us a listening ear like a true best friend.

He is part of every facet of your life and helps you make the right choices.

Perhaps you know the story I have often told about the Holy Spirit giving me instructions in the morning to wear a certain dress. And sure enough, I end up at a party during the day.

Or He tells you to wear your hair in a certain way, for example in a braid, and you end up in a heavy rainstorm.

I could give you a number of other examples, but I think you get my point.

Over the past few months, I had been enjoying my walk with the Holy Spirit. He guided and corrected me in everything. And then it happened…

I heard Him less and less. His voice became softer and came from the background. This got worse and worse…

And suddenly I could hardly hear Him anymore, and when I did hear Him, I began to doubt whether it was Him or my own voice.

What actually happened?

In my daily walk and in my ministry, I depend on Him and He is my source. But slowly I chose distraction. I chose to play a game on my phone, then a second game, and then a third game. I reached the point where I was playing multiple games on my phone. I had to achieve a goal for each game and also achieve the daily goal. I could go on and on about this, but at a certain point, I was only preoccupied with the games and achieving the goals in the games, and I was no longer focused on the goals of Papa God. This is not because I was no longer interested in His things, but because I was too busy with the unimportant games. The desire to be involved in His things never went away, but was suppressed by what I was focusing on.

The last video I recorded for Alicia’s Word was broadcast last October. Due to circumstances, I wasn’t able to record a new video, which can happen, as my family is my first ministry.

But from December onwards, I returned to a state of calm and could have resumed recording. This didn’t happen because I had other things to do with my time in the meantime.

Fortunately, I found my way back to the voice of the Holy Spirit. This was preceded by a period of fasting and silence. I literally had to return to a heart of worship. And I thank Jesus that I was able to give up my “new” hobby.

Do you recognize anything I have written? And do you not know what you need to do to be exited about God again?

Tell Papa what is bothering you and ask for forgiveness, and He will forgive you.

He loves us this much!

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13
