Some time ago, a news item about type 2 diabetes was broadcast on Dutch television.
This news item reported that a large part of the Dutch population has type 2 diabetes and that these people are unaware that they have it.
I would like to clarify that I stopped watching the news years ago. This is simply because I have come to realize that the media feeds us what they want, and that this is not always necessarily nutritious.
Another comparison I often make is that my brain is like a hard drive that CANNOT be formatted. I don’t want to clutter it with unnecessary information, so I am selective about what I take in.
By chance, I was watching the news on the day mentioned above and the item really stood out to me.
My first reaction to the news item was to reject what was being said for myself and my loved ones, and my intention was to not concern myself with it any further. But later that morning, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I should reject the spoken words not only for my loved ones, but also for my nation.
I had to speak out against these spoken words of sickness on behalf of the Netherlands.
As most of us know, death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21
Our tongue can build someone up by blessing them or tear them down by cursing them. It became clear to me that this news item was not released into the world without purpose, but that it was intended to tear down Dutch society, or in other words, to curse it. And what I also had to consider is that the moment the person upon whom this curse is spoken does not contradict the spoken word, they accept the curse. The exact reason why I rejected the words spoken over my loved ones and myself.
The fact is that most Dutch people, or people anywhere in the world, are not aware of the effect of words and of the fact that we have the authority to speak against words.
The Holy Spirit showed me that these words spoken over my nation had to be rebuked. If I hadn’t watched the news at that moment, the Holy Spirit would not have been able to show me what was being said about my nation.
And we would not have been able to speak against them.
This is only because I watched the news.
I am aware that if I do not know what is going on and what is being spoken about me, my loved ones, or my nation, I am powerless to speak against it.
Let me encourage you today to be alert in everything you do and to be ready to do what the Word of God says! Papa God is raising up an army to do His work!
