Today, I want to talk about something many of us wrestle with: setting and adjusting our goals. Goals are an important part of life, but what happens when our plans don’t unfold the way we expected? Is it okay to adjust our goals? The answer is yes—as long as our goals remain aligned with Papa God’s will and purpose for our lives.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:3 to “Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” This means that our goals should always be placed in His hands, seeking His guidance and trusting Him to establish our steps. Adjusting a goal isn’t a sign of failure; it’s often an act of wisdom and obedience.

Proverbs 19:21 tells us, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Sometimes, when we need to adjust our goals, it’s because God is redirecting us. He sees the bigger picture and knows what’s best. Adjusting our goals doesn’t mean giving up—it means staying flexible and open to His leading.

Setting realistic, achievable goals doesn’t diminish our faith; it strengthens it. Luke 14:28 teaches us to count the cost before beginning a task, ensuring we have the resources to complete it. This principle reminds us that careful planning, paired with faith, is essential in pursuing our dreams. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith fuels our goals, even when adjustments are necessary.

Matthew 6:33 reminds us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” When our goals prioritize God’s Kingdom, they are anchored in the eternal. Psalm 37:4 encourages us to “delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” When our hearts are aligned with His, even our goals are transformed by His love.

It’s also okay to acknowledge that some goals take time. Philippians 4:13 assures us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” With His strength, we can persevere, even when the path takes longer than we’d like. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of His promise: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

So, can you adjust your goals? Absolutely! Let Papa God guide you as you re-evaluate, re-align, and move forward with faith. Trust that His timing is perfect and that He is faithful to bring to completion the good work He has started in you.

Today, take a moment to lay your goals before Him. Ask for wisdom, discernment, and the courage to adjust where needed. Remember, it’s not about perfection—it’s about walking hand in hand with Him toward His perfect plan for your life.
