Have you noticed people ending a conversation by saying god bless?
I used to get mad excited about this! How I enjoyed receiving blessings here and there. After all, you can never be blessed enough! Right?
Well, so I have since completely come back from that; I will explain to you why;
The moment I gave my heart to Jesus, I knew I was dealing with evil spirits. My desire to be set free from these evil spirits made me become part of a church.
As a young Christian, I didn’t exactly knew how or what and was quite dependent on the prayers and blessings I received from others.
So every time someone said god bless you to me, I accepted this blessing with both hands!
This was the case until the moment I received the next revelation:
Not because someone says god bless means he or she blesses you in Jesus name!
This came across as raw to me at first; it even made me a little suspicious. Every time someone said god blessing to me, I questioned whether I should accept it; there was even a time when I rejected the blessing. This simply because I did not know what the source of these blessings was.
What I needed to be made aware of and didn’t think about myself is that there are people, even people who are part of a denomination, who serve a god, but this is certainly not the God of Jesus Christ!
There are plenty of people who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master, there are plenty of people who worship other gods.
These people are often zealous to pronounce blessing on you, but a blessing in the name of their own lord and master; the god of the world.
That being said; use the discernment that we received the moment we accepted Jesus Christ into our lives at all times! He will reveal to you from what source is spoken to you.
Test everything that is said to you and spoken about you with the Holy Spirit, so that you don’t have to be as distrustful as I was in the past.
“Test all things;” 1 Thessalonians 5:21
