We all know the saying, Patience is a virtue.
Well I can tell you that my patience has been tested a bit lately.
The year is coming to an end, the last festivities of the year are just around the corner. Our children are simultaneously excited for what is to come and tired from the first few months of school and sports.
Parents with children can agree that children who are tired sometimes demonstrate unusual behavior. In the case of my children, it involves being impatient and intolerant of each other.
I mentioned earlier that my children have an active sports life in addition to school and other endeavors. This means that my husband and I are alongside a sports field 6 days a week.
This is obviously quite an effort for both my husband and I, but also quite effortful for the kids.
These last two weeks I can see that my sons are in tremendous need of the upcoming vacation. They don’t necessarily feel like anything, and as I mentioned, they are intolerant of each other.
They attack each other verbally. They say things to each other that are just on or just over the edge. There is clearly a tangible form of struggle active!
As may be known, strife is a spirit that does not come from Papa God. Therefore, this strife must be rebuked and its mission canceled in the Name of Jesus.
How has this strife been able to nestle so comfortably within our family, this although we are children of the King of Kings?
Strife, as well as other spirits that do not originate from Papa God, are lurking waiting for an opening to arise through which they can lay claim to your life. These spirits work subtly and purposefully. Their influence often does not come as a sudden attack, but quietly creeps into your life, like a cloud slowly shifting in front of the sun. It usually begins with an open door-a moment of weakness, due to fatigue, among other things.
We as parents had to stand up for our children and bind this strife. We needed to punish the strife and cancel the assignment on the lives of our children and our family in the Name of Jesus.
Something as simple as fatigue can cause such situations to arise, hence my urgent call to take the important rest we need. The moment we are tired, our body and soul are not at their sharpest. And when you are not sharp, the enemy can creep into your life.
Let this be an encouragement that you are not the only one who is or has been going through such situations, and please be encouraged that there is a way out of this situation.
Love,
Alicia
